St. John’s Thrift Shop located at 303 “A” Street is across the street from the old St. John’s grade school and the former St. John’s Church first began on June 29, 1970 and now is in its 46th year of helping the church and serving the public.
The Thrift Shop‘s mission statement is: “Recycling God’s Gifts, Helping Our Neighbor”
The working hours are from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM Monday through Saturday. The shop sells clothing, shoes, purses, luggage, jewelry, household furnishings, books, videos, and more. Presently we have nearly 80 full and part time workers that keep the shop running in good order. We have two potluck meetings each year in March and October to share information and get ideas to improve our shop. Help from both women and men is always needed and appreciated.
We help families in need and hold a clothes giveaway twice a year (when we change from summer to fall/winter clothing and again when we change from winter to spring/summer clothing.)
