St. John's School
AR is a unique reading management system used in Kindergarten through 5th grade that motivates children to read and tracks their achievement. Students select and read books in their reading level and take computerized tests when they finish reading. The program keeps track of all the tests taken and points earned for each participating student. Students are awarded with bronze, silver and gold as they achieve point milestones and are recognized at the end of year awards ceremony.
American Heritage Girls is the premier national character development organization for young women that embraces Christian values and encourages family involvement. St. John's Lutheran Church and School is a Charter Organization of American Heritage Girls.

All students participate in Field Day hosted by St. Paul Lutheran School in Bremen, IN at the end of the school year.
Weekly chapel service is held each Wednesday from 8:05-8:30 am in the church sanctuary. Chapel is frequently led by a class. All parents are welcome to attend.
Field trips are a substantial part of the St. John's curriculum from Pre-School through 8th grade. Regional favorites including the Field & Art Museums in Chicago and the Spicer Lake Swamp Stomp. Every three years, the 6th, 7th and 8th grade classes travel to Washington D.C. at the end of the school year.
All students in Kindergarten through 8th grade participate in Chorus. Students also have the option to participate in Strings, where they will have group instruction on stringed instruments once per week. Students perform at various times throughout the school year.
